Essay plug

Shameless plug department: As I mentioned here before, I won this year's Outlook/Picador nonfiction competition. Outlook magazine has just published my essay and the two runners up (Tishani Doshi and Geralyn Pinto) in a booklet that's enclosed with the current issue of Outlook (dated May 16). Those of you who can lay your hands on a copy of Outlook, please read the booklet and I'd love to hear your comments.

All five shortlisted essays will be up on the Outlook website in a few days (well, so I'm told), and I will link to them from here. The shortlist is:
  • Ankush Saikia, Spotting Veron
  • Samanth Subramanian, In Search of the Razor's Edge. Samanth has things to say about A writer and his web-blahg.
  • Geralyn Pinto, Re-Routing
  • Tishani Doshi, Excerpts from the Journal of a Delusional Widow
  • Me, Ride Across the River

Dilip, maybe you can post it on your blog too?

Rishi, I might indeed do that. When I get a moment. And Karthik, thanks for reading it and your note!

Hi Dilip,

Congratulations on winning the prize! Will wait for you to post it (or link to it), though!

Congrats, again.

Why thank you, Ms S. Do let me know about your travels.

Ms S, why should it be silly to write about travelling? Not in the least. I have never been to Corbett, never east of Sikkim, and I have been to Goa for a total of three days in my life. So there you are. I would like to go the NE too.
