Siva Bond

I'm positive this has made the rounds many times over, but it just came my way, sent by a Telugu lady in Bhopal (you know who you are).

***

On a flight, James Bond (007) is sitting next to a Telugu guy.

Telugu Guy: "Hello, may I know your name please?"

James Bond: "My name is Bond."

Continuing in his inimitable style, " ... James Bond."

Then Bond asks: "And you?"

Telugu Guy: "My name is Rao."

"... Siva Rao."

"... Samba Siva Rao."

"... Venkata Samba Siva Rao."

"... Yarlagadda Venkata Samba Siva Rao."

"... Rajasekhara Yarlagadda Venkata Samba Siva Rao."

"... Sitaramanjaneyula Rajasekhara Yarlagadda Venkata Samba Siva Rao."

"... Vijayawada Sitaramanjaneyula Rajasekhara Yarlagadda Venkata Samba Siva Rao."

Since then, whenever anyone asks Bond his name, he simply says "James Bond." Also, he never came to India for any of his assignments.

For some inexplicable reason this brings back memories of two college buddies -- Malladi Venkata Rama Subramanya Jaya Vardhana Vara Prasad and Arshanapalayam Srinivasa Raghava Chari Dorai Swamy Kayar Chakravarti Sanjay Sampat Iyengar.

Where are you, dudes?

'Yarlagadda' is a surname.. it should be at the beginning of the long string of names..(or at the end). that makes vijayawada redundant here. and it's andhraites who usually have long names, telanganis have shorter names (like pamulaparti venkata narasimha rao:)). hey..why am i quibbling over a joke?
