-versary, again

Today's a BIG day for this blog! Whoo!

It's exactly one year, 10 months and one day since it first hit the air. Or if you prefer, 670 days.

Big day, like I said.

Postscript: How could I forget? Today is also two years, seven months and 43 days since this blog didn't hit the air. Also four years, 11 months and 17 days ...

Here,, Dilip read that. I think you might be more open to read that since it comes from a secular commie paper - Hindustan Times.

From the above link.... Pretty much the same thing I said.

This bias in the points system clearly reveals that the Mandal Commission did not want to draw attention to the fact that its intended beneficiaries were really not economically and educationally backward. This is to be expected, as the castes favoured for reservation by Mandal were never really discriminated against in history as the Scheduled Castes were. That they chose not to seek education and urban jobs as the so-called ‘forward’ castes did still does not make them a once persecuted category or community.

As soon as I saw this post, I thought "Which poor sod has posted an anniversary post recently?"

This comes closest I think...

hmmm, humor ain't exactly your forte either, is it?

Yaz, 2x3x7 is a "poor sod"? Please don't call him that. I mean it. I don't like abuse on my blog.

Thanks for pointing me, I'm going over right now to wish him for his anniversary.

Zap, I got confused and celebrated on day #66. What to do?

Yazad, I said: I don't like abuse on my blog.

Especially not from you. I'm astonished, actually.

Very, JAP.

"poor sod" as abuse???

It was a humourous comment and definately not out of place as your post was a humourous one!

Here's the full dictionary meaning of sod.

Scroll down to
4: an informal British term for a youth or man; "the poor sod couldn't even buy a drink"

That's exactly what I meant. Definately not abuse. I hope this clarifies things.

Dilip D'Souza said...

Oh good, Yazad. I'm glad you didn't mean to refer to definition #2 on that very page, which reads:

2. A person regarded as obnoxious or contemptible.

Yazad Jal said...

That's why poor sod, not just sod.

When there is a choice in meanings, I generally take the most charitable. I thought you too did the same.

Dilip D'Souza said...

Good for you, Yaz! I tend to take the least charitable, and admire you for doing the opposite. Which is why I said, I was astonished.

Definately Yaz needs a good deal more of 'spelling Nazism'!

And 10:28 AM, Anonymous definitely needs a good deal more of spelling 'DefinAtely'
