Wom and Lead Poisoning

Good friend gave my son a present the other day. It comes wrapped in a very pleasant plastic bag with a strip of pink on one end and a lovely strip of stickiness on the other. It features a bear with a little speech balloon with a word that I think is meant to be "WOW" but reads "WOM".

Then again, maybe it is meant to be "WOM".

It has these instructions in faint print on one corner:
  • IT WON'T MAKE MOTHERS WORRIED THEY CAN BECOME CHILDREN
  • THEY CAN DRAW WRITE MAKE UP PICTURES AND CALCULATE
  • IT CANSAVE PAPER AND PENCIL AND IMPROVE DRAWING AND WRITING INTEREST
  • IT CAN HELP CHILDREN TO AVOID PUTTING PENCIL INTOTHE MOUTH WITHOUT LEAD POISONING
Quite a product, and I 'm very glad my son has got it. In fact, my precise reaction is, "WOM!"

And oh yes, what is this thing? Oh, it's an ever-popular, well-known toy. Yes, the one parents all over the world are crazy about:
