Identical, believe it

Some years ago, I found out about how Tata had become a common noun in Madagascar. Most public buses in the capital, Antananarivo, were then made by India's Tata group. Naturally, people would tell me to "take the Tata" here and there when I would ask for directions.

In much the same way, Volvo is now a common noun in these parts. (Though I'm puzzled: why not Tata?)

And I took a Volvo from Pune to Bombay last week. Very comfortable and relaxed trip, if you exclude the guy seated behind me who sustained a cellphone argument with a girlfriend all through the journey. Going by the racket coming from near the front of the bus, I suspect his girlfriend was sitting there. Unless that was the audio from Hera Pheri starring Suneil ("Maybe I meant Suniel") Shetty and Akshay Kumar, shown for the entertainment of us bleary-eyed passengers.

And printed at the bottom of my ticket was this line: Courtesy Safety and Reability.

Re-ability? Readability? Redo-ability? Reality? Really-billy? What?

Britannia cheese spreads that we've been gorging on of late, very tasty and all. Sour Cream & Onion, Minty Coriander flavours, maybe more, but these two for sure. So minty fresh that I've been thinking of calling all my friends to recommend them.

Then I read on the side of the rectangular container this little notice:

CONTAINS ADDED NATURE-IDENTICAL FLAVOUR

Yeah you know, that's the stuff you and I have always wanted. The fresh flavours of Mother Nature-Identical. That back-to-Nature-Identical taste of back Home-Identical.

Come to think of it, I think I will call all my friends after all. They deserve a taste of these all-natural-identical flavours.

And that's the truth-identical.
