A street by any name

I'm sure it makes perfect sense to long term residents of Salt Lake City. But check this map of the middle of SLC's downtown, around Temple Square.

Gaze upon streets called: W N Temple, E N Temple, N W Temple, S W Temple, W S Temple and E S Temple.

Piece of cake.

The downtown is confusing. But in general, SLC is laid out a perfect grid - so if you know the coordinates, you know exactly how to get around. Having lived there for 3 years, believe me, that place comes close to heaven. If you are around for a few days, DO take the alpine trail. (The drive is exquisite too).

Forgot to mention - couple more places worth visiting: Antelope island and Vista point at night (past 10 with two bottles of chilled beer).

Reminds me of Chidambaram, where the temple is surrounded by North Car Street, South Car Street, East Car Street, West Car Street. Now, if they further subdivided those streets, they'd have West North Car Street, East North Car Streets, etc... However, I don't see an E Temple (or SE Temple or NE temple) in the SLC map. They should rename State Street appropriately.
