Wired in a way

Sarah Palin: "You have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we're on, reform of this country and victory in the war, you can't blink."

...

Charlie Gibson: "When I asked John McCain about your national security credentials, he cited the fact that you have commanded the Alaskan National Guard and that Alaska is close to Russia. Are those sufficient credentials?"

SP: "But it is about reform of government and it's about putting government back on the side of the people, and that has much to do with foreign policy and national security issues."

...

CG: "What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?"

SP: "They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

CG: "What insight does that give you into what they're doing in Georgia?"

SP: "Well, I'm giving you that perspective of how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relation with all of these countries, especially Russia."

...

More -- including Governor Sarah Palin's knowledge or otherwise of the "Bush doctrine", Charlie Gibson asking "Is that a yes?", and Governor Palin's discussion of God's plan -- here.

Much of what's there is what I just saw on ABC's "Nightline" programme.

Interesting threads. In fact this entire campaign has been very very interesting. I wish our (Indian) elections would also be so informative and engage in debates of relevance.

hi dilip

yeah, governor palin is quite a treasure. i guess you know that, if elected, mccain will be the oldest president to take the oath, and he has a history of cancer and this and that other medical problems.

so prepare for a world very largely run by sarah palin. boo!

(i'll be voting for Obama. maybe 2 or 3 times.)

anyway, i enjoyed your e-mail:

I'm unable to understand what is objectionable about
maoistresistance.blogspot.com. As Anoop points out, it is just a collection of news stories.

well ... that's just what police and governments do ... they find things objectionable. that's their job.

oh PS ...

i bought a keychain that counts down the time to Bush's Last Day as president, right now it says

129 days 19 hours 8 minutes 20.7 seconds

(but it's a pretty cheap clock, maybe this is more accurate:

Wow! This provides an insight into the intellectual capacity or the lack of it, of Sarah Palin.

:D

The voters in the US do not need to elect Obama just because he is an excellent candidate for president, but also because of the scary prospects that the competition has to offer!

Bush with lipstick! :-)

but gotta admit the guts of this person to have her entire introduction to the world be based on lies.

Rabin --

The word for Palin is "chutzpah" -- this is defined as murdering your parents, then throwing yourself on the judge's mercy because you're an orphan.

Yesterday Palin's campaign keepers let her out for a brief unsupervised television news interview. She was asked about her foreign policy experience. She explained that Alaska is a few miles across the ocean from Russia, and shares a land border with Canada. So as Alaska's governor, she said she's had plenty of foreign policy experience.
