About cows

After reading this news report, I found the number and tone of the comments about it just as encouraging.

I'm not so sure abt "encouraging". BTW I am a Hindu who avoids beef. Others dont need to change their dietary habits to accomodate my belief.

Thus no cleric needed to issue such a call. Okay, I still do appreciate it as a kind of "depolarizing" signal.

The appropriate response from us Hindus should have been "there's no problem eating beef" but you saw many Hindus on that thread welcome this and start going bhai-bhai.

Jai

I agree with Jai. It does address polarization but the comments aren't encouraging.

Zap, the only reason I found it encouraging is that at least there were people there saying things to the effect of "we Hindus need to reciprocate just as generously."

Perhaps I'm just too pessimistic for my own good, but I don't know when I last heard such language.
