Take the road

Something for the times we find ourselves in?

"Owners of capital will stimulate working class to buy more and more of expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing them to take more and more expensive credits, until their debt becomes unbearable. The unpaid debt will lead to bankruptcy of banks, which will have to be nationalized, and the State will have to take the road which will eventually lead to _______."

Question 1: Who said this? When?

Question 2: Fill in the blank.

Usual: No Google, no Dogpile, no Cuil, no Wikipedia, etc.

(Thanks for the reminder, RP).

Nationalization of banks, sorry missed Q2.

It's a mystery who wrote it --there's intense debate on whether Karl Marx actually wrote it. All signs point to "Fake"

Marx, and blank = Communism, or rather a worker's revolution to be more precise.

But did Marx predict that 35 years of nationalised banks would lead to filthy pan stains on the walls and the all-pervading smell of urine?

Just curious....

yes.

from "devdas kapital" page 37.A, i quote:-

"beasts wild with hunger will cross the rivers of urine,
the greater part of the battle will be against the urine stench.
it will cause great men to be dragged in a cage of iron,
where the sons of India spit paan on almost every park bench
."

Here is another one...

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened"

As Lumbergh points out, it is most likely a fake attribution or as McArdle called it, Faux Marx

Glad to see we have some alert readers out there!

The blank is "communism".

What's less clear is who wrote it. It ain't Marx; instead it's somebody who thought they'd pull a fast one.

But imphonix2, what I want to know is where'd you get that quote from.

you are unapologizing marxist. also your commenters on this page. how you can give quotes from that discredited immoral ideaology???

Dear Mr D'Souza.

I'm looking for a book (on Pardhis) by you but I am unable to find it despite searching at various bookstores in Mumbai.

I couldn't get your email on this blog. Will you please tell me your mail or the place I can get the book?
