This should have gone up here this morning, but anyway.
Not working and earning, and enforcing that, only brings economic activity to a halt. That strikes me as a stupid (not forgetting cruel) way to protest inflation. Therefore I intend to work hard today. I urge you to do so too.

Dilip, I find it strange that Mumbai, which showed great resilience after the terror attacks, floods, etc surrendered meekly to the Bandh call and shut down completely. What happened to the famous 'spirit of Mumbai"? Was the shutdown due to fear of Sena's methods or a genuine sympathy for the cause?
Raj: I'm just cynical about this famous "spirit of Mumbai". I don't think it exists in the form that everyone likes to celebrate.
