Climbing a mountain

"I believe the citizens of our country are left with very few things to have faith in. The past year has been one of scams and we are now reeling under double-digit inflation. Getting a child admitted to school is like climbing a mountain; Delhi is called the rape capital. Religion is still being used to push political agendas and then we have our quota of natural mishaps. Amidst all this if cricket can provide some respite, we'd have done our job."

Gautam Gambhir, speaking to the Hindustan Times.

Now compare this to what a baseball player in your America would say. Is that how he would define his job?

HAHAHAHA! Its very sensitive of Gautam Gambhir to have thought of this. Its to his credit. It truly is.

But "Amidst all this if cricket can provide some respite, we'd have done our job." is rubbish. LOL.

If anything cricket and popular sports are a distraction from serious issues that need to be heeded.

No? Dcubed?

When people like Binayak Sen are in jail I suppose there is nothing else to do but look towards cricketers, courtesy hefty TV sponsorship, for salvation.
