Really, that's the name of the book: Num8er My5teries. I'm still looking for creative ways to pronounce it. The Sunday Guardian asked me to review it, and they published what I came up with ten days ago, here.

Aside from the reason computer scientists are always confused about Halloween and Christmas because OCT 31 = DEC 25 -- yes numbers are fascinating. Why do kids give up on Math? I think it is because math is mostly abstract - and outside of textbooks they never see the use of math or experience its value.
Your review reminded of a line from the classic, "A Beautiful Mind" (Have you seen that btw?) -- After carefuly observing distinct patterns that'd make up the tie of a colleague, Nash (Crowe) remarked - "There has to be a mathematical explanation for how bad your tie is".
